The action in frame four takes place in the dark. In comics, technical functions show in inverse luminance format—White BG=black words, Black BG=white words!
The luminaire illuminates during the interpanel gap. Frame five takes place after the illumination has filled the area.

Then, of course, Jay is upset, because Kat wired her XMAS lights right into the doorjamb, instead of using an extension cord. See, a GIRL thought of that, and he is amazed!

Well… it could be because she is dressed like Santa, and Mich has a Santa hat! But let’s be real: Wouldn’t Santa look nicer if his hair (face and scalp) were really brown? Sure he would!

But what I don’t understand is this: In frame 4, the guy turns on the light (I am assuming this from the illustrated “click” sound). Now, I don’t know exactly how the world works over in the US, but over here the light travels faster than the sound. Please explain to me how the sound of the light switch is heard before we can see the room illuminating?

OH, and if sound DOES travel faster than light in Imy’s world, how can we see the “CLICK” word in complete darkness in frame 4? Think about that one!
