74 - A Few Key Items

Lost? Even when within a story arc I try to make each strip stand out on it’s on. Nevertheless, here’s the link to the first strip in this arc: Self Defence

Did you miss Fan Art Friday? You DID?! Well, go back and see then! And don’t make that mistake again. ;) Especially this coming Friday which will be a real treat!

I never had time to work on the wallpaper or character page this weekend. I have a lot of time tonight, so I’ll try to get at least one of those done.

  2. wit | September 8th, 2008 | 7:05 pm

See…now that’s just wrong. Hot coffee on the gnads is just way way wrong. Funny…but wrong.

    You go girl!

  4. HeatherJ | September 8th, 2008 | 8:49 pm

I have to say, I’m with Jay on this one. If I had to wear an eye patch, I think I would wear the whole pirate get-up.

Wow. Imy comic uses UNIX? (horrible pun.)
So Imy likes her men sterile?
How DO you treat a blister like that? :P
(Hopefully this doesn’t land in the spam filter, AGAIN.) ¬.¬

Teresa: Hehe thanks! Glad you liked it!

wit: Well, exactly! The the wrongness of something is directly proportional to how funny it is :D So, there ya go!

    Beav: Z-snaps all around!

HeatherJ: You know I’m going to hold you to that! I mean, I hope you never have to wear one. But if you do… I’m getting you the hook! :D

Douglas: Haha! Hopefully his jeans will prevent any, er,blistering. And… ok… this is probably going to sound really dumb but.. I don’t get the “UNIX” pun. :(

  7. Mike | September 8th, 2008 | 10:51 pm

Being a guy, and ffter having spilled hot tea on my lap a few days ago I have to sympathise with Jay! Oh, and the jeans did nothing to stop the pain! (No blisters though)

Revenge… It’s sweeter than honey!!! LMAO

  9. Luna | September 9th, 2008 | 2:49 am

Hey… are they gonna get in an AAARRRRRgument now? *Snort/laugh*! Sorry… couldn’t help myself….

  10. Brock | September 9th, 2008 | 5:57 pm

Great last panel! Imy is just a solid read every time.

  11. Irma | September 9th, 2008 | 11:07 pm

Mike: OUCH! So this strip hits home for you, huh? Glad there were no blisters! I can’t even begin to imagine the type of complications that would arise from that :-D

Luna: Ha! Imy and Jay don’t seem to get into arguments… they just seem to constantly get each other back again and again and again…

Brock:: THANKS!! That’s pretty freggin’ awesome coming from you!

Irma - Unix is a computer operating system, but also homonym of Unics which is a sterilized male. I think DK was going for that play on words.

Luna - I think your Pirate humor sailed right past our host and out into the 7 seas.

I love the dent in Imy’s hair made by the eye patch band. Once her eye heals and she loses the patch, I could see it taking a few strips for Imy’s hair to puff back out to perfection.

  13. Irma | September 10th, 2008 | 7:13 pm

Trent: Ah yes. I know what Unix is (I had to get SOMETHING out of that computer science degree :P ). But I’ve probably only heard the term “unic” once in my life and I know that if someone would have said “unic” to me before your comment, I wouldn’t have remembered at all what it was. So yeah. I never would have gotten that one. Thanks for clearing it up!

And no, I didn’t miss the “ARRRR” in Luna’s comment. I did laugh at it (the “Ha!” that I wrote) and then jokingly responded to what was actually said.” But I didn’t miss the joke. Jeez, give me SOME credit ;)

And yeah Imy is probably not particularly happy about how that eye patch ruins her hair style. But after one wash it’ll be just fine ;)

I automatically assume all comic strip writers to be clueless dolts. Appears that I may have to rethink that philosophy. At least it still applies to Wit.

I think it was “History of the World Part II” that introduced most of us non-history folks to the Unic. Or maybe UNIX is the proper plural form of Unic?

  15. Irma | September 10th, 2008 | 10:28 pm

So I should blame Wit for your false perception of us? Damn you Witmer!!! :D

And oh… good ‘ole Mel Brooks. How lucky that you’ve been able to see “Part II.” ;)

  16. Trent Walker | September 10th, 2008 | 11:16 pm

That’s what I was thinking when I was invited to the private screening at Mel’s place. Not sure why he never released it to the public. Not many people know that he made part 1 and 2 simultaneously - thus the “part 1″ in the title of the one released.

Oh my! That may have been around the same time I was over there for a double-feature of Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money” and Spaceballs 3: “The Search For The Lost Sequel.” Excellent sequels. A shame the public won’t ever see them. I guess we’re just THAT special!
