Imy and Kat sketch
Just a little something I’m working on while I practice my pencil and ink work. Drew it tonight while sitting on the couch. Wish I would have timed myself just to see. Since I do my comic completely digitally, I’ve been trying to work on real materials. I’ve become slightly more familiar with the tools. It just takes some time. Here is a little sketch I did tonight. I plan on inking it over the weekend. The plan after that is to scan it in and color it digitally. And if it comes out right, I’ll post it here 🙂
whattt no patch?! 😉
I LOVE this, Irma. I encourage you to PLEASE keep up the pencil and ink drawing in your sketchbook, etc! It makes a world of difference, and your digital drawing “hand” improves inevitably even moreso. Please post more sketches/sketchbook/process work!! I love seeing it!
Thanks, David! It’s actually you, of course, who’s inspired me to sketch. It’s much harder for me to sit and sketch randomly like you do, I guess because I’m not used to it. But it feels really good when i finish something! I can’t wait to spend more time on this one this weekend and see how it comes out. I am a little scared of ruining it though. But I guess that’s part of the process!
It’s also good because when I draw on the computer, i use Illustrator, and that is NOT like regular drawing. Sure, I draw the lines, but illustrator doesn’t draw lines like a hand on paper does. So then I have to work with the lines after to make them look like I wanted them to. So drawing on paper is very different. But I’m enjoying it a LOT 😀
Irma, I am so flattered by that. Thank you. And I’m So glad you’re having fun with sketching. The more you do it, the more it becomes natural to just doodle… just let it go! And yeah, I know what you mean about Illustrator. When you draw on paper, you keep thinking you can “undo” and you can’t! haha Keep up the great work. I LOVE Imy. It gets better and better!!!!
