87 - That Halloween Feeling

Sorry for the super-delayed posting. This has nothing to do with laziness. I still have a lot of stuff I’m dealing with right now. Please just bear with me.

On Friday I posted the final version of that pencil sketch I did a while ago. Did you miss it? I’m so proud of it! Inked on paper then scanned in and colored digitally. Turns out I COULD possibly do it all on paper if I really wanted to…

And don’t forget: If you’re a member of Facebook, become a fan of Imy! And, if you’re a member of Webcomics Inc. join the ‘Imy’ group page.

Love it. You’re really stretching yourself with these single panelers, Irma. The punchline here hits just the right note.

Completely in line with a very early Imy - the one with the Christmas decorations… Makes me laugh :D

Agreed…looks great. Love the light around the window bleeding into darkness. Really nice.

Sounds what I would do in the dark….LOL Great Comic Thanks……..

Jay’s ghostly eyes are freaking me out!

I look at stuff like this and can’t help but think “If I had more time I could fire up GIMP, do this, that, a little bit here, and I’ll have the same effect.” The light bleeding is made using a simple black layer with an alpha fade toward the center. OH! If only my comic were drawn better enough to warrant such effects! I’d have soooo much fun. :D

I loooooooooved to walk around in the dark. Then I got cats. Who like to walk around in the dark. Nothing good ever comes of it.

Irma - your use of color makes all those other comics look like they are stuck in the 1950’s. Anybody watching their favorite shows on a 13″ B&W Zenieth. I didn’t think so.

Doug - this isn’t “world’s greatest magic tricks explained” - keep your techie explanations to yourself. The non-illustrators in the room (well, uh, looks like that may include only good ‘ol Trent here) prefer to think that such awesome effects are only achieved through hours of tireless work. Of course you did come back with a little self deprecation.

tbowl - easy solution, just get rid of the cats.

The coloring on this strip is FRIGGIN awesome! Well worth the wait! ;) heh heh

    Is it Halloween yet?!?!?

Brock - Wow, thank you! I was very unsure about it when I finished it!

tyler - Yes I know how you dig the spooky stuff! I started having nightmares about “Twilight Eyes.” It was a really GREAT book, but I had to go to “happy stuff” afterwards!

Isabell - Exactly! I thought of that strip the whole time I was doing this one!

    Tom - THANKS!

Utahrouge - I’m finding that more people do t his than I expected!

me! - All for the spookiness of Halloween of course!

Doug - Listen to Trent! “The Process” takes away the magic of it all!

tbowl - I would say “poor cats,” but I know too much about how cats really are so.. poor YOU! ;)

Trent - THANK YOU!!! I am always so worried about my colors. I’m afraid I’m going to scare people away with them. I stress over them like nobody knows. Ask my husband. It drives him mad.

Teresa - THANK YOU!!! And Halloween is just around the corner now!

Jacquie - Welcome to the comments!! And I love that feeling too :)

Fine… I’ll just sit in this corner with my alpha fade layer. *sniffle* :P
