94 – Apocalypse

For those not in tune with the happenings in rock music, I apologize that you may not understand today’s comic. But I just couldn’t miss an opportunity to do a strip coinciding with the release of this album – what is it? 14 years in the making??? Personally, I hope it bombs so that Axl realizes that he’s NOTHING without the rest of GNR. That being said, I sorta don’t mind the first single. *gulp*

Oh yeah and I went to see ‘Twilight’ like I said I would in the last post. The verdict? I can’t actually say how I feel about the move because I was surrounded bu hundreds of teenage girls who screamed the ENTIRE EFFING FILM. I seriously can’t remember the film. I just remember the screaming. Never experienced anything like that before. So now I’m DIEING DYING (whoops!) to see the move again, and actually be allowed to pay attention to it. But I’ll wait until the screeching teens have had their fill.

Monica – Whoops! You know, a while ago I looked up “dieing” to see if it was accepted and I SWEAR I read that it was. But now when I look it up I don’t see that anymore! My spell check doesn’t pick it up though. Very odd. But fixed now! And I still like “dayly.” Hey, if a Doctor can use it, then maybe we should all follow suit!
I’ve had a chance to hear some tracks off the upcoming disk and I think that Axl should just make it his solo disk. It’s an abomination for him to call it a GnR Record.

I want to take the opportunity before you reach #100 to congratulate you on an extremely impressive feat. I am honestly in awe of your persistance and talent when it comes to creating a webcomic and the community around it.
I also think your drawing style and technique is improving rapidly with each published comic. Imy simply looks better and better each week!

Love the new site look. Not that keen on the new GNR release. Not a big fan of the Ax ’s attitude. I guess it doesn’t affect his music…..just my perception of it.
of course, being a political junkie and having a slow computer that wouldn’t let me scroll over I readin up to “Chinese democracy” and immediatly got the idea I needed to check the news. >_>
Anyway, I’m not even very informed in my music genre of choice (country) much less rock so the joke is wasted on me.
As for the “Twilight” stuff, those fools need to get a clue and stop being so overtly obsessed. I, for example, am pretty in to Harry Potter, and don’t show it much at all, whereas my half-sister likes it a bit (and I think that was because it was popular) in comparison and was overtly excited. A subtle fan is a good fan IMO.
Oh, if anyone’s interested I’m starting my comic back up. YAY!
Wit – I agree! Velvet Revolver would have had more right calling themselves GnR than Axl does!

Orcbuddy – Thanks! Yeah Axl is a Grade-A wack job. I haven’t heard the album yet, so I can’t say anything about it. But reading the review that Josh posted earlier was VERY interesting.
Gilly and Doug – If I would have put money down on anyone not getting this strip, it would have been you guys! You’re just too young. It has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with Axl Rose of Guns’n'Roses (I’ll assume you know who they are!) announcing for the past 14 or so years that this album was going to come out. I don’t know how many times we’ve been told over that time that the album was coming out, over and over and over again. So now that it is actually out, it’s hard to believe. Nobody thought it would actually ever happen.

Saw Twilight, the first time at 12:01 am on opening day with 3525l23j5k23 screaming teenagers…bleh! Forced the husband to go with me so he could stare at Edward like I did and I have to say, I liked the movie better than the books. *prepares to get hit with pies in the face*
Alli – No pies to throw here! Considering I read that you didn’t like the books, I don’t blame you. While I have yet to properly see the movie, I’m sure that even if I love it, I won’t love it as much as the book. There is just such a fantastic tension and passion that builds through the book that doesn’t have tie to build in the movie. But that’s just how I feel
Hell, the Chinese make everything else in the world, why not Democracy? (BTW I love your strip Irma)
