166 – Childhood Dreams
Finally, Jay, it’s your turn to be in the spotlight a bit. I’m looking forward to this!
So, tonight I’m going to go see Mr. Big!!!! How freggin’ cool is that? I was a huge fan in high school. My 14-year-old self is screaming her head off with excitement right now. I CAN’T WAIT!!!
nothing like being a rock and roll star i tell you.
Ahh the life of a rock star…Great comic!
I love the way you did the “nostalgic” colors in the first two frames! Way cool!
“Reality is *always* stranger than our hopes and dreams.” – some guy whose name I can’t remember at the moment.
What is it with guys wearing all this hairspray these days?! x3
Mr Big??? Nobody was a fan of Mr Big. Are you sure you weren’t on something back then? LOL
Okay fine…I’ll be nice.
Back to the comic. Love the look of sheer happiness on Jay’s face in panel 2. From a musician’s perspective, I’d stab Jay’s band mate.
tyler – Yeha, the “glam” bit isn’t always a good thing!
Rob – Thanks!
Leslie – Thank you! Yeah, I figured it would give off the “flashback” feel a little better.
Reynard – That’s the TRUTH!
Imy – You know, I went to a Mr. Big concert last night and a LOT of the fans were guys in their early 20s dressed in 80’s rock garb with teased hair! It seems to be popular among some groups these days. But Jay & Ben are only dressed like that since they’re in a cover band. It’s crazy that that look seems to be coming back a bit… at least here in Sweden!
wit – Wit, I shed a tear for your lack of ability to appreciate good blues-based rock. My condolences 😀 And thanks! Yeah I wanted to get that feeling of HAPPY across there.
See, i’m still stuck on the 80’s Mr. Big…the spandex and big hair and push-up bras and…huh?
