I don’t think Colorado has an IKEA store…at least, not one near my house…

  2. Marjorie

I first went to IKEA on a trip to Sweden back in ‘96. LOVED IT. They just opened up one in Massachusetts a few years back and I can get lost in that store….and buy way too many bags of bilar :)

    • Irma

It is SO WEIRD to read about someone talking about Bilar and not being in Sweden. People go bananas over here for that candy. My husband eats them until he gets sick LOL

  3. tyler_durden

isn’t that the truth! my bartender at work, she’s a ikea-holic!

    • Irma

I used to be, but I’ve thankfully grown out of it. But I’ve been there a lot lately in preparation for my impending move.

I think this qualifies as a “Dun Dun Duuunnnn” moment!

    OMG FELLOW COLORADAN!!!

    • Doug

Now I’m thinking it’d be neat to make one of those Google maps that has little points for where all the Imy fans live… It’d be nice to see how many of my fellow Missourians are reading. (none, I can nearly bet.)

      • Irma

Actually, that would be fun to see!

well I think it has some power when it is colorless and just the Ikea is shining..btw love the hearts in Imys eyes :)

    • Irma

I agree with you on the colors actually, Mirka!

She just couldn’t stop thinking about that missed hot dog… (#205)

Earlier this year my wife and I made the conscious decision that we weren’t going to spend money on expensive furniture that will either wear out or we’ll grow tired of (or both).

While a trip to the Ikea in Potomac Mills (Wash D.C.) resulted in a purchase of a very affordable leather couch and a bookshelf (wow only 70 bucks) I’m just not sure I’m ready to revert back to living in a dorm room. And yes, my son and I each had a hotdog.

It’s funny how the coloring changes the feeling of the strip (for me at least). When it was all blues, I thought it was really early morning, like Imy was so pumped about IKEA that she took Kat there before they opened and camped out, adding to her nutty goodness. Now that it’s colored, with the sunlight and empty parking lot, it looks like nobody likes IKEA except Imy. Never underestimate the powers of coloring! (or so I tell my 7 year old)

    • Irma

You’re not the first person to think that! I think I sort of liked the other coloring better as well… hmm….

LOL Love it! And I will definitely buy at least one Irma for my tiny home. You can never have too much of Irma. :)

    • Irma

Yay! You could decorate your entire home with Irma! I like that idea! :D

*sigh* Ikea. at least 50% of my house is Ikea.

    • Irma

I’m at about 90%. I’m going for 75% with the new apartment. It’s hard because the furniture choices are limited here, and everything esle is moles more expensive.

Have you been hanging out with my girlfriend? LOL

We got an ikea pretty much in the center of town recently, just opposite the main shopping mall. It blocked the view from the John lewis restuarant with a big lump of blue and, well, this:

    Gotta love Ikea.

    • Irma

Yeah, subtle is not really IKEA’s thing. When I land at Newark airport when I’m visiting my mom, the first thing I’m greeted by is that big mass of blue & yellow. It’s like a reminder to me that I’m never far away from “home.” :D
