319 – Wait Is Over

Yeah! The first Imy since June 2nd. It’s been SEVEN weeks! Goodness.
First, I want to thank you all so much for your support, understanding and encouragement while I’ve been healing. It has really meant a lot to me and allowed me to focus mainly on getting better.
Second, while Imy HAS officially returned, I will ONLY be posting on Thursdays at the beginning for 2 reasons.
1) I’m still healing. I am SO much better, but I will not over exert myself.
2) Other projects, like Imy Vol 2.0, have also suffered because of my injury. I have a LOT of catching up to do so that the book is ready for NYCC 2011 in October.
Once the book is completed (and a couple of other projects I have to catch up on), Imy will return to its usual schedule. I need to have the book done in a month, so I expect the full schedule for the comic to come back around then.
ONE MORE THING…
Another project I’ve been a part of has launched. It also suffered from my injury, but since most of the art part of it was done before I injured myself, I was able to put in the work to finish it. And that is:
It’s a website, podcast & community geared towards the GeekParent or the GeekParent in training. Honestly, it will appeal to ALL geeks. It’s a project created by Tom Racine, the golden voice of Tall Tale Radio, Justin Thompson, of the comic Mythtickle, and lil’ ole me. 
I’m more invovled in the technical side having created the website for them, and keeping up the GeekPapa web presence. But I’m very proud and honored to be a part of this. I think this will appeal to a LOT of you out there. So go check out the GeekPapas site (there is a LOT on there to check out!), “like” the GeekPapas Facebook Page, and follow GeekPapas on twitter. As for not having more Potter movies to look forward to, I’m not very bothered. I enjoyed watching them, but I don’t think I’ve ever been very excited about them. Maybe the first ones, but the farther we got, the less I looked forward to watching the next movie. Kind of glad they’re over really.

I felt this way at the end of Return of the King. But hoping for The Hobbit, which it appears I’ll be getting soon enough :0)

Very well done. I just saw the movie last night and it was pretty emotional. Snape really jumped up a few notches. I was sad to see him die.

As for today’s installment and the closing of the potter franchise ….
Post-Potter Depression
Potterheads with this condition suffer despondency, tearfulness, feelings of inadequacy, guilt, anxiety, irritability and fatigue. Physical symptoms include headaches, numbness, chest pain and hyperventilation. A Potterhead with PostPotter depression may regard the Potter Franchise with ambivalence, negativity or disinterest. An adverse effect on the bonding between the Potterhead and the Potter Franchise may result. Because this syndrome is still poorly defined and under studied, it tends to be under reported. Estimates of its occurrence range from 3% to 20% of movie goers and book readers. The depression can begin at any time between the last episode and 6 months post-viewing, and may last up to several months or even a year.
