265 – Real Halloween
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
I so wish I was still in the US for this holiday! It’s the BEST and I MISS IT!!! I hope you all have fun halloween plans! I’ll at least be carving a pumpkin on Saturday to put in my window and show people who the American is here 😉
The book and the NYCC post will be coming this weekend! WOO!!
I have to admit I’m guilty of that. This year, I’m like a female version of the mad hatter. But I really do love the scary-ness of Halloween. 🙂 Awesome grayscale use, by the way.
*By “that,” I mean like the new meaning of Halloween that Imy describes. Hehe
Thank you! The grayscale was used at first to save time. But it turned out to work well with the strip, so I decided to keep it and just put color on some elements.
thank goodness they’re not sparkly!
Scaring the bejeesus out of people – now that’s something I fully support. 😉
“Imy: Keeping the squares on their toes since 2007!”
Way to rock Halloween. I love it!
Thanks Marc!
I could even stand that. What gets me is the annoying… not even kidifying…it’s like… cutesy, spider-cupcake, stuffed animal saccharine sweet Halloween stuff. Frankly a lot of the blood & Guts/zombie stuff is OTT too, but at least they are trying. It’s the ‘soccer-mom-cute-crafted-with-popsicle-sticks’ stuff that really just makes me retch…
(I’ve been a pirate for almost a decade now…)
Haha! ARRRR!!! At least you get Halloween stuff. Sweden is Halloween deprived 🙁
The true meaning of Halloween is candy for the kids. I don’t know how it got changed to cutsie costumes, let alone showing of skin (which definitely is taking the holiday away from the kids.)
Yes! Candy’s the other bit!!!
There is so much truth in this one :/
I’m guessing you don’t have “Modern Family” over there do you? Julie Bowen’s character and her husband had a very similar conversation in this week’s episode. Though she was a corpse bride and not a vampire.
I know that we did in the spring or summer because my boss talked about it, but I don’t watch it. But any show that comes here from the US is behind by at lest a week.
Now I’ll have to look up this episode to see 😀
Maybe I’m just weird, but I immediately thought of the take on Halloween from “Rosanne”…
that’s so awesome! you rock Irma
Love the b & w. ahhh… scaring kids… I do that on a regular basis… especially when I tell my kids they have to clean their rooms!
Great strip! Love it.
To quote Col. Sherman Potter from M.A.S.H. “In my day, Halloween wasn’t for getting pie-eyed; it was for gettin’ the SKIVVIES scared offa ya!” BOO! 😯
