Okay, so, this one is really really taken directly from my life. On Saturday I spent the entire day reading the first book of the ‘Twilight’ series and I just fell in love. Yesterday i went to buy the rest of the books and I’m already more than halfway done with book 2. I know a lot of people seem to be comparing it to Harry Potter but it’s NOTHING like the HP series. The only similarity is it’s extreme popularity. And as much as I am a rabid HP fan, I finally found a series that rivals it. I’m completely in love with these books! I’ve always liked vampire stuff, ever since I can remember. And the story is just beautifully told. The passion, pain and emotion - GOOD STUFF. And my friends and I are going to try to get tickets to the sneak premier next Thursday. I can’t wait!

Anywho… I’m so obsessed I couldn’t possible do a comic that didn’t have to do with it

Coincidentally (or maybe not so much), I threw out my pumpkin today. I figured I better be prudent and not let happen what happened last year: I came home from work to find a smashed pumpkin in a puddle of water on my living room floor. I had no idea that inside the walls it had basically rotted away on the just left water. It still looked pretty good on the outside!

Happy Halloween! Halloween doesn’t get that much attention over here in Sweden, but I do what I can to get myself in the spirit. Today I carved my jack-o-lantern while watching my Charlie Brown and Garfield Halloween specials on DVD, and then placed it in the window. Everyone MUST know who the American is here! Kids DO trick or treat here. But I don’t think it’s that popular for them either. Incidentally, they also dress up as witches and “trick or treat” on Easter here. But that’s a whole other story…

Sorry for the super-delayed posting. This has nothing to do with laziness. I still have a lot of stuff I’m dealing with right now. Please just bear with me.

On Friday I posted the final version of that pencil sketch I did a while ago. Did you miss it? I’m so proud of it! Inked on paper then scanned in and colored digitally. Turns out I COULD possibly do it all on paper if I really wanted to…

Anyway, after I inked it, I scanned it in and colored it in Photoshop. Which is the first time I’ve ever done that. I color digitally all the time. But I never before colored something that was done in paper and ink and scanned in. And also I’ve only just done very few sketches on paper up till now anyway.

Here’s the result!

I am SO proud of myself. This is a big step for me! Of course I have a lot to learn, but this proves that if I wanted to I COULD draw my strips in paper and ink, and then post-produce in photoshop. I don’t think I’ll be making that crossover, but I will definitely be doing more separate pieces this way.

I wonder if I should make this into a desktop…

Today I have a treat for you! My very first ever Guest Strip! Guest strips are awesome for 3 reasons:

1) The readers get to learn about another comic artist.
2) The guest comic artist gets some new traffic
3) The original artist (moi) gets a little break!

Today’s strip was provided by the very talented “Me!” of Prematurely Disappointed. Me! has been a fan of Imy for a while, I’m sure you recognize him from the comments. I am truly honored that he would do a guest strip for me, and I absolutely love it! The angry candy mob has had me cracking up ever since he sent me the preview last night! “I have a pointy thing!” is going to be my new threat. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I have. And please go and stop by Prematurely Disappointed and give it a read. It’s a funny comic about a single, sarcastic 20-something girl named Cassie that’s I’ve had on my “favs” list for a while. And it doesn’t get anywhere near the attention it should. And you really should get a cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) sit and start at the beginning.

I honestly didn’t think I would get a strip up today because of some things going on. But I couldn’t NOT do it. I haven’t missed an update in a VERY long time. I didn’t think it would be appropriate to start yet. Besides, once this idea popped into my head, I couldn’t NOT draw it.

OH, and midway through the creation of today’s strip, I took out a few minutes to fill out my absentee ballot and prepare the envelopes. So tomorrow it gets sent and I will have fulfilled my duties as a U.S. citizen (living abroad). Woo!

Oh yeah, also? I am, as of yesterday, officially 28 years old, and another year closer to 30. *gulp*
