I’m not really one for going to the beach. I grew up going to the beach, but it’s different when you’re a kid, I think. Plus, I’ve never been entirely comfortable with open water. Seaweed makes me screech, and as soon as I’m off the beach all sand must be OFF of me or I move very quickly in the direction of a BAD MOOD.

But, one of the most relaxing things to me is standing at the waters edge and letting the water wash over my feet and bury them. Or just walking along the edge as the water washes over my feet again and again.

Needless to say, I miss California.

As for the Avengers… I’ve seen this movie twice now and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I can’t get enough!!

I hope you all you comic lovers out there took advantage of Free Comic Book Day this weekend! I was able to stop by a comic shop in Stockholm and pick up a few comics AND leave a stack of “Imy” bookmarks for people to grab. I hope that at least SOMEONE who is reading this got here by an “Imy” bookmark they picked up at Comics Heaven!

Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you! And also, HAPPY AVENGERS DAY! Over here in Europe we’ve had it out for a week, but I haven’t been able to see it and I’ll be seeing it today too. I CAN’T WAIT! Woooooo!!!

I’ve been on vacation for the past 2 weeks as well. But I didn’t travel around Europe like Kat & Imy. I *live* in Europe, so instead I went to San Diego, one of my favorite places! And, as you all saw, I managed to keep the comic updated! Before I went away I worked to get those comics ready so I didn’t have to take time off for the trip, and I’m so happy I did! But, I fell one short. And that’s today’s strip. I arrived back in Sweden early this morning after travelling for about 22 hours straight. I’m completely beat and a zombie today. So today will be the first day in 2012 that I am skipping an update. But Imy will be back on Friday!

Now, onto the fun stuff!

In place of a comic, I have a podcast for you! I was in San Diego, the home of the great Golden Voice of Tall Tale Radio, and I got in on a round table podcast about starting new comics! Since I just recently started my new comic, Cosmical, Tom thought that I’d fit well in this discussion. It was a blast! We talked with Joel Duggan of Starcrossed and John Sanford of Chippy & Loopus and K&J about the process of starting a new comic and how social media affects that process. France would be the one country on all of the countries Imy & Kat have visited that I haven’t been to myself, yet. I would LOVE to go to Paris and especially The Louvre. But as much as I’d love to see the Mona Lisa, I’ve heard that the lines for it are pretty insane, and that museum is far too big and full of beautiful things to waste time on one very small piece of art.

Today the girls head down to the boot of Europe and are forced to come to terms with a difficult truth…

A expected, when I visited Italy, the food was AMAZING. But boy do they make you wait for it!

I went to Barcelona about 4 years ago. I absolutely ADORED it. If you’re into art and architecture, you would too. It’s an incredibly beautiful city and it has some of the most amazing architectural art I’ve seen. Much of the city’s buildings and parks are designed by the eccentric Antoni Gaudi. I studied a lot of his work in my art history classes in college and I was thrilled ot be able to see it all in person. Today’s comic is based on an apartment building called “Casa Mila,” aka “La Pedrera.” The building is gorgeous, but the most striking part of it is the rooftop. It’s surreal up there. It’s basically a sculpture garden where every feature of the roof (chimneys, entrences and exits) is sculpted. The chimneys are supposed to resemble warriors. But if you let your mind run………

You can’t miss Casa Mila if you ever go to Barcelona. And just to add, since I added it in the skyline in the back of panel 2, you absolutely can’t miss La Sagrada Familia if you’re there. A church that has been built for the past 140 years, and continues to be built today. That is hands down one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been.

Imy got her passport so her and Kat are taking Europe by storm! For the next 2 weeks you’ll be catching glimpses of their trip!

London is one of my favorite cities. I’ve been there several times and I only love it more each time I’m there. As a really cool touristy thing to do, the London Eye is at the top of the list. It’s about a 45 minute ride around, I think, and you get amazing views of the city. I try to tell people who are afraid of heights that you don’t even notice that it’s moving, it doesn’t swing and it’s as stable as if you were standing on the ground. But I don’t think that helps any of them
