This just reminds me, on the last day of April every year in Sweden we have a bonfires all over the country for Valborg (Walpurgis). I go to a huge one in the center of town every year by the water. It’s so big that everyone standing around it usually has to stand about 25 feet away. Any closer and you can feel your face melting off. One of these years I need to be very American about it and just take a marshmallow on a stick with me and see how close I can get and if it will toast

Yay! I’m back! San Diego was WONDERFUL as always. I nearly handcuffed myself to my beach house so I couldn’t leave. Hard to come back to a dark, gray Sweden after so much wonderful sun and warmth! But I am back, and that also means I’m back here! The schedule is going as I wrote in that post below a couple of weeks ago. For the next two weeks I will be back to my normal Mon & Thu schedule, until I go to NYC. Then, when I get back at the beginning of November, things with either resume to normal right away, OR, I will take a week to build a buffer and THEN resume to normal.

On to today’s comic!

How about you guys? I am about to turn 31. Up to this point I have been to around 100 concerts in my lifetime. The great majority of those were spent waiting for hours before so I could get a great spot down in the standing area around the stage. And many of those were front row, sweaty and screaming and sometimes having physical contact with the artists (Chad Smith kissed me once! yeah!). But recently I’ve realized I don’t really care about that anymore. I would much rather have seats now. I can get there when I want and NOT be trampled or have my ribs crushed. And I’m totally OK with that. And that’s a little scary…

Yeah! The first Imy since June 2nd. It’s been SEVEN weeks! Goodness.

First, I want to thank you all so much for your support, understanding and encouragement while I’ve been healing. It has really meant a lot to me and allowed me to focus mainly on getting better.

Second, while Imy HAS officially returned, I will ONLY be posting on Thursdays at the beginning for 2 reasons.

1) I’m still healing. I am SO much better, but I will not over exert myself.
2) Other projects, like Imy Vol 2.0, have also suffered because of my injury. I have a LOT of catching up to do so that the book is ready for NYCC 2011 in October.

Once the book is completed (and a couple of other projects I have to catch up on), Imy will return to its usual schedule. I need to have the book done in a month, so I expect the full schedule for the comic to come back around then.

ONE MORE THING…

Another project I’ve been a part of has launched. It also suffered from my injury, but since most of the art part of it was done before I injured myself, I was able to put in the work to finish it. And that is:

It’s a website, podcast & community geared towards the GeekParent or the GeekParent in training. Honestly, it will appeal to ALL geeks. It’s a project created by Tom Racine, the golden voice of Tall Tale Radio, Justin Thompson, of the comic Mythtickle, and lil’ ole me. I’m more invovled in the technical side having created the website for them, and keeping up the GeekPapa web presence. But I’m very proud and honored to be a part of this.
