“If music is my Religion…”
…then Hector Berlioz is my God; and Bach, Beethoven, Sibelius, Vivaldi, Brahms, Mozart, Mahler, Bruckner, Handel, etc. are his Angels. (Yes, I *am* primarily a Classical Music fan. Why do you ask?)
The “KISS” CD instantly told me that Imy is okay in my book! I bet she even has some Rush lying around the place. Rock on, Rock Girl!
Nice change of perspective. Also, interesting music choice – was surprised to see the Killers in with Kid Rock, VH and the others.
Reynard – He! I guess Steve Tyler would my one of my many man Gods then 🙂 I used to always say “If music is my religion, the concerts are my mass.” But I thought I’d change it up to fit in with this strip!
Orcbuddy – Ha! Clearly you have seen this strip yet! And I’ve checked through Imy’s CD case. No Rush… I apologize.
Trent HA!! I wondered if someone would mention the Killers CD in there! I feel like I have been pigeonholing her music tastes too much. I wanted to broaden it a bit, and I think slipping The Killers int here gets that point across.
Where’d she get that cool octopus pillow? 😉
While it is very possible that an ’80s fan would be listening to the Killers, a Bon Jovi fan like Imy would probably favor the Killers’ second album over their first one, which would probably be more popular with fans of ’80s synthpop.
…Not to nitpick or anything.
Yeah, see that’s exactly why I’m trying to show a bit more of what Imy likes. It was never my intention to have Imy as a primarily an “80’s band” fan. Maybe that impression was made due to the choices that I’ve shown in the strip. But really the common denominator for her is rock music, from any decade. Please don’t think of her as an “80’s” fan. I’ll have to work on breaking that impression.
And actually, when you look at the CDs she has there – None of them are from the 80’s. The exception is the KISS CD, but that isn’t even modeled after a real album cover.
*gasp* Where’s that “eyes popping out of the head” smiley? I believe synthpop would be more Depeche Mode/Soft Cell/New Order… NOT Bon Jovi. And I don’t believe I ever made any reference to Imy liking synthpop in the history of the strip.
I simply love Imy’s taste in music. she almost reminds me of me, before she got red hair…. now she just needs to temporarily dye her hair black and heypresto, it’s some one who’s a lot like me 🙂 not long till the big 100 i see…..good luck reaching it;)
now let us all pray…”hail rock and roll!”
amen!
BUCKCHERRY!??!!?
WOOHOO!!
IMY ROCKS EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE! HEHE
Great strip…love the angle.
gilly – So glad you can relate!! And yes, #100 is sneaking up on me! I can’t believe it!!
tyler – That’s what I’m talkin’ about! 😉
Teresa – But of course! Would you expect anything less from her? 😉 And Thanks!
🙂
I’m finally getting caught up on your strips (I’ve been busy). I love this one, and I attend “mass” daily at the lab. When I clock in, people know church is in session for the next 8+ hours. =D
Bio – Haha! Glad you can relate! And so happy you’ve caught yourself up!!!
Has Imy heard of the Toadies?
