88 – Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween! Halloween doesn’t get that much attention over here in Sweden, but I do what I can to get myself in the spirit. Today I carved my jack-o-lantern while watching my Charlie Brown and Garfield Halloween specials on DVD, and then placed it in the window. Everyone MUST know who the American is here! Kids DO trick or treat here. But I don’t think it’s that popular for them either. Incidentally, they also dress up as witches and “trick or treat” on Easter here. But that’s a whole other story…
Oh and I also finally responded to all the comments on Monday’s strip. So glad you guys liked it so much!
And don’t forget: If you’re a member of Facebook, become a fan of Imy! And, if you’re a member of Webcomics Inc. join the ‘Imy’ group page.
Happy Halloween to you too! Enjoy it even though your in another country!
I hope there is leftover candy this year! We always get tons of kids! Last year 15 bags wasnt enough! I bought more this year but I guess we’ll see. 🙂
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
One year, when we still lived in Dallas, I didn’t buy any candy. We kept our light off, so no one would trick or treat – but that didn’t stop them. Needless to say, we ended up handing out dollar bills and then running to 7-11 for candy.
That sure was an expensive Halloween….
quit taking pixs of me and using them for ideas!
snack size butterfingers..mmmmmmmmmm!
Great strip! Too bad that never happens in Sweden. Though the part with me eating the candy I bought myself happens too often.
Didn’t know you had the Charlie Brown special. Hmmm….
Awesome strip! Jay thought he was safe buying the candy the morning of too. Hahaha.
Monica: That’ll learn ya! 😉
That chocolate mouth halo totally had me thrown at first. I thought she had this big gaping maw to shove the bowl in but the amoeba shape didn’t fit. Guess I should sober up before reading this.
Ya know, now that I’ve tried coloring my comic and realizing how empty the backgrounds are, I totally appreciate and commend you on your backgrounds and how your characters stand out from them, even with all the detail.
That’s never happened to me! nope not ever . . . uh uh . . no. . .
Dani – Thanks! I enjoyed it as much as I could!
Teresa – So, did you have any left? I bet not 😀
Monica – Ha! Like Erika said, I guess you learned your lesson! You know, I’ve never had the chance to hand out candy on Halloween. I hope it doesn’t disappear here, so that I can do it the day we finally buy a house!
tyler – But where will I get my inspiration???!!!!
Heather – It does happen! In some places… Just not around us!
Erika – Yeah, it’s surprising he hasn’t learned to hide it yet!
me! – Let me tell you, I STRUGGLE with the backgrounds in nearly every strip. It is a HUGE pain in the butt to get the colors right and make everything balance well and stand out. But I’m so dead set on having colors in every strip that I make it worth it. But I am always unsure about my backgrounds. Ask my husband. He’s very sick of hearing me complain about them every time 😀
Bullfinch – Hey Welcome to the site!! Or, at least, welcome to the comments!
Between skimming my son’s take and the left overs I usually go on a post-Halloween two week sugar rush. then another two weeks at a methadone clinic to bring me back down.
Irma – it is your sworn duty to bring Halloween trick-or-treating to the children of Sweden. You should start immediatley on your propaganda campaign to prepare the youths for 2009. Do they know the candy they are missing out on? I wonder if my family would mind me wearing my vampire costume to church and Easter dinner next year?
Trent – It is my mission, and I choose to accept it!!!! 😉
