Imy Vol 3.0 – For sale NOW!

by Irma on November 11, 2012 at 8:39 pm
Posted In: blog

Here we go! Volume 3.0 is finally up for sale! I’ve done things a little differently this time. Due to the amount of combinations of orders, it’s just easier for me at this time to have you guys place your order with me via email instead of a shopping cart. It’s easier for everyone one so that there aren’t a bunch of confusing options. So just head to the buying page, check out the prices and follow the simple instructions on how to place your order.

DO IT! πŸ˜‰

New York Comic Con 2012 – Floor Plan & Schedule

by Irma on September 27, 2012 at 8:26 pm
Posted In: blog

Alright! Here’s the info post! Everything you need to know about finding me at NYCC in 2 WEEKS from now!

Let’s start with the basics.

First, you can visit the New York Comic Con Website for all the information you need. You can plan out your visit on there with their planner AND you can download the free NYCC app to your phone and plan it all there as well! But here is my info.

Where?

Javits Center, NYC, NY, USA, Tellus

Booth C5 in the North Pavillion. Here are the maps.

Javits Center. I’m in that blue section (click for bigger):

And once you walk through the connector hall I’m near the entrance, so you should be able to come to my table pretty quickly (click for bigger):

When?

October 12-14th. The 11th is Press/Pro day, but I won’t be at my table for that day.

The Artist Alley hours are as follows:

When can you find me? I can’t guarantee exactly what times I will be at my table. I will want to roam the con a bit myself, and take lunch breaks and such. I will try to be there as much as possible, though. I probably will not be able to make it to the very end each day (Cons are EXHAUSTING). So try and see me earlier in your day. Also, I’ll be sharing my table with Marc LaPierre, so if I’m not there, HE will be, and you can ask him when I’ll be back.

What will I be selling?

I plan to have Imy Vol 1.0, Imy Vol 2.0 and the BRAND NEW Imy Vol 3.0 to sell at my table. I hit a snag with Vol 3.0 today, but I’m crossing all my fingers and all my toes and everything should work out. (could you cross yours too please? Just for extra luck. THANKS!). So I’ll have all those Volumes with me.

I’ll also have some art with me and other goodies.

Who’s that guy you’re sharing the table with?

That’s Marc LaPierre. He is ÜBER-talented. Intimidatingly so. You may know him from his previous webcomics, Boxcar Astronaut or Spooky Doofus. Currently, he is the artist of the excellent Superfogeys webcomic. If you still don’t know his art, then check out his Facebook page right HERE, and just scroll through. It’s AMAZING stuff and he’ll be sitting there selling and drawing. And he draws FAST. He’s magic. He has to be. Or a robot. He’s definitely at least superhuman!

So, I *think* that just about covers it. If there is any info I forgot, then ask in the comments and I’ll answer! I really hope a bunch of you are able to come say hi! Hopefully people I’ve seen before and new people too! I can’t wait! It’s going to be so much fun!

Contributor Spotlight: D. M. Rolfe

A bunch of really great people stepped up to contribute to my 3rd “Imy” book. This year I decided to do something a little special to thank each of them. So I’m going to be posting these posts about them with a little gift for them as a thank you. πŸ™‚

First up is the first person to send me a contribution and that was D. M. Rolfe (Darren) of the hilarious Mighty Monocle comic strip.

The Mighty Monocle, which updates on Mondays, is a great newspaper style comic about a New York’s worst superhero in Great Britain and his sidekick robot-dog, Terry. It’s a brilliant concept and makes me laugh out loud. I just wish Darren would update more than once a week! But it’s sure to brighten up your Monday.

So thanks SO MUCH, Darren for your work in my book, and I hope you like your thank-you gift!

And as for the rest of you, head on over to Mighty MonocleMighty Monocle and start from the beginning if you haven’t already!

Help Tall Tale Radio, get SUPER COOL stuff!

by Irma on August 24, 2012 at 8:03 pm

OK, so… my good friend Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio is a pretty great person. Besides being one of the most genuine, down-to-earth, and generous people you’ll ever meet, he does a lot for the cartoon community. He’s out there all the time helping cartoonists promote themselves and playing editor for a whole LOT of us (I can’t tell you how many “Imy’s” have gone through the Racine Ringer).

He also does an EXCELLENT podcast for cartoonist and comic/geek fans where he interviews all sort sof cartoonists, from teeny no-one’s like myself to the Big Kahunas like Stephan Pastis of “Pearls Before Swine.” He provides us with well done, professional, entertaining, funny and informative episodes practically weekly. And he does it FOR FREE. And he contributes in so many other ways as well.

152 episodes later and TTR is still going strong. But Tom’s 2006 laptop (do computers actually last that long?) is starting to protest in big ways. We want Tom to continue being an integral part of the cartoon community. So Tom’s set up an Indiegogo fundraiser to help him update his equipment before it’s too late. There are wonderful incentives if you donate, but you can also donate just for the hell of it. And you can donate however much you want.

But, seriously, just click and check out those incentives. Some really cool stuff from prominent cartoonists. As they sell out, Tom adds more. The latest addition are ORIGINAL sketches by Mark Tatulli of “Lio!”

So if you have some cash you want to throw at Tall Tale Radio, please go ahead and do so. πŸ™‚ As a friend who wants to see TTR, and everything else Tom’s working on, to continue, I thank you. πŸ˜‰
