Imy’s escaped!

…and run of to the land of Legend of Bill! She’s disguised herself and tried to steal a dragon, apparently. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past her to do such a thing. I do hope she returns that dragon and returns in one piece. She can’t be all roughed up for Monday’s strip! But, I shouldn’t count on her being that sensible…

Ok so the real story is that I did this fan art for David a little while ago and I’ve been dying to see it up and show you all! He’s been killing me with this 1-fan-art-a-week thing. But finally today is my day! It features Imy Legend-of-Bill-style, Frank the Dragon and Princess Gina. Princess Gina hasn’t had her debut in LoB just yet, but David’s been hinting that she’ll show up soon! All I know is that when I saw her I couldn’t wait to have my go at drawing her! Something just drew me to her… must have been the pink hair 😉

Legend of Bill is one of my favorite webcomics and has been since David started it up a little while back. It features Bill, the “hero” and wannabe-barbarian, Frank, a lovable and snarky dragon, and Princess Gina, who we have yet to meet. Every strip is LOL funny and David’s has a really awesome, fun style (and GREAT coloring when it comes to the colored strips). David has also been super supportive of me and Imy and I can’t thank him enough for that.

So go and check it out my fan art! And then start reading Legend of Bill from the start! You’ll be hooked instantly, I’m telling ya.

Some Imy Art

Over the weekend I decided to do a the above little drawing of Imy. I wanted to do something a little more detailed, with a bit more depth. Something that would kind of make you feel like you’re looking at her a little more closely. I’m going to do this from time to time, just some random drawings when I feel like it.

Celebrating #50 in style!

When I first started with Imy, it was just to see if I could do it. For a long time I had wanted to have my own comic strip, but I never thought I had it in me. I was often told I should stat one, especially considering my drawing style, but I always replied with “I’m just not witty enough.”

Well, one day I finally got up enough nerve, and ideas, to give it a go. And my goal was to do 5 strips. Just 5 and see what happens. One whirlwind and 7 months later, here I am at strip #50 (which, if you don’t see yet, will be posted at midnight Swedish time). I’m in shock. I can’t believe I made it this far. And, somehow, in this time, I have managed to capture some fans. Ridiculous. I never thought I could do it.

While on the subject of fans I just want to say… THANK YOU. For those of you who continue to come back every Monday and Thursday (or more), even if you don’t comment, just… THANK YOU. This wouldn’t be up here if it wasn’t for that I wanted people to read it and like it. I create the strip for me, but that fact that so many people seem to enjoy it as much as I do is what keeps me going from week to week.

And a special thank you to those who have sent me the most wonderful emails and messages. Those people who have the faith and confidence in me that I sometimes lose my grip on, and who urge me to continue and grow and learn from my mistakes. You know who you are of course. You’ve made my day on more than one occasion.

Of all my little “side projects,” that I’ve done, I am most proud of this one. I am so happy that 7 months ago I decided to stop everything else and just focus on this comic. It has become much more than just a side hobby. This strip has become very important to me.

So to celebrate the big 5-0 strip, I’ve decided to give Imy a gift. A domain of her own, just for the strip. And with it came a bit of a redesign. The basics of the design I had before are still there, but now much more colorful (that gray was really starting to bum me out), and a much more lively header.

I’ve also added some goodies! You’ll see the menu at the top of the sidebar there. I’ve spent a bit of this weekend creating those three wallpapers there which you can use on your desktop computer or iPhone/iPod touch. I am currently using the mermaid one myself 😉

So there you have it! Please change you links and update your feeds. Unfortunately, I have to start all over again with StumbleUpon, but it’s well worth it to have my own page. I hope you like the new place. I am really very excited about it!

Champagne glasses all around! Here’s to another 50!

Blame KISS!!

We are going to see KISS in concert tomorrow night. This evening a few of the guys were doing a signing which we went to. I fully planned to go to the signing, come home and do today’s strip. But we ended up meeting a pretty cool guy in line and spent the rest of the evening hanging out with him. And soon it’s bed time. So it was a sacrifice, but it’s all in the name of music!

So even though tomorrow I have the concert, I plan on doing the comic tomorrow instead. If I run out of time you can be ABSOLUTELY sure it’ll be up on Saturday. I REALLY hate to do it, especially after having canceled last week’s Thursday strip for Eurovision. But this is what I get for not preparing beforehand. It’s my own fault. And I’m NOT canceling the Thursday strip this week. Just delaying it.

I really have to give myself some time one week this summer to create a buffer and keep this from happening.

I’m so so so so sorry. And, as always, I really appreciate your understanding and patience!

Eurovision Thursday = No strip

Now I know the majority of you have no idea what Eurovision is since the majority of you are not in Europe. Here’s an informative Wiki link for you – The Eurovision Song Contest. To put it all shortly: Each (almost every) country in Europe sends a singer or group with a song to the contest. We all watch and vote for our favorite song (we can’t vote for our own country), and then the winning song’s country hosts the next year’s event. This has been going on for just over 50 years. It’s mostly horrific music, but some is OK, and it’s a LOT of fun (especially to make fun of the entries), and exciting to watch.

Tonight is the second semi-final to figure out which countries will be in the final on Saturday. Tonight Sweden competes, and we have a great schlager song that has a big chance of winning. I can’t begin to tell you how I’ve been looking forward to this! To get an idea, you can read my post from a couple of months back for when Sweden was choosing their entry. Anyway, on Saturday I’m going to write a big Eurovision post on my blog, so you can check for that then if you’re curious.

Anyway, the WHOLE POINT of this is that tonight I’m dedicating to Eurovision, tomorrow I have a concert, and Saturday is the Eurovision final, so no comic for the end of this week. I’ll be back on Monday once the Eurovision madness is over. Promise!

Thanks for your patience and understanding 🙂
