33 - You’re On Your Own

While I was drawing Imy for today’s strip Illustrator decided to just go ahead and crash on me. The weird thing is that I habitually hit Ctrl-S every few minutes. But I must have been really sucked into the drawing because when I loaded it back up she was gone! *sob* Completely frustrating, especially when you’re exhausted. Fortunately, I’m so used to drawing her now that I got her back in tangible form fairly quickly- I guess practice does make perfect…

It’s been 12 strips since Jay’s last appearance. I really need to get him in more so I can practice drawing him. But first I may have to catch him…

Ahh somehow I hit “submit” before I was ready!!

I also meant to say that it’s awesome to see Jay back again as well. :D

I love how you drew him disappearing. They sandwich in mid-air is perfect! Can’t wait to see Mia develop. I bet she is a spit-fire! lol

LMAO! I have to agree… the floating sandwich is hysterical!!! This one fits more than a few guys that I know!!!

Ha, Jay running away is great. I also like the sandwich in mid-air.

The same thing happened to me with Illustrator years ago. I was working on a drawing for a good 2-3 hours and then Illustrator crashed–and as soon as it did, I thought “Did I even save?” I did, but it was only probably 10 minutes into the drawing. God, that sucked.

    Nice!

Great visual gag in the last two panels.

I learned my lesson with saving too. I was working a full color photoshop image (you know how often color hits pinkerton) and my dog SAT on the surge protector to my computer. I screamed. I cried. I had dog sandwiches. It was lovely.

So how much of this is based on your “real” life?

I guess I’m the last to say the visual gags are great. You could have had panel 3 for the final payoff but panel 4 is great and then we would have missed it!

I love the first couple of lines. “Did I hear a baby crying?” “No. That was me!” hehe. Hilarious!

Did you change the dialog? I don’t remember the “no that was me” at the beginning. Hysterical, can’t believe I missed that.

That word balloon has at least 1 too many “me”s in the last sentence.

HOW do you pick that out? But not see the first line in her dialog? LMAO. I swear I did not see that double “me.” And I read it a bajillion times. Those double word mistakes would be there forever if you didn’t see them. I don’t know why I can’t ever see it myself!

I didn’t see that either. whoops!
