NYCC 2011: The Info Post! Come see me!
By Irma on October 8th, 2011Posted In: news
Here we go! NYCC is only FIVE DAYS AWAY! SO it’s about time I give you my info so you know where and when to find me!
So let’s go….
WHERE?
Javits Convention Center, NYC, NY, USA, Planet Earth, Sector ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha… If you hit Betelgeuse, you’ve gone to far.
I’ll be at table P5 in Artist’s Alley. I’ll be sitting with the folks over at Webcomics Alliance, and sharing my table with Antoine Gagnon of Drunken Fools. The other WA people are Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert & Fred and Ken Drab of Rick the Stick who’ll be at table P6 right next to us!
Here is a map with my table marked on it. The cool thing is that if you go into the NYCC website and look up the interactive map, you can actually put my name in the search and find me! So cool! But, anyway, click the image below to see it in full size.
WHEN?
NYCC weekend: October 13-16. I’ll be there Friday, Saturday & Sunday during public hours. I won’t be doing the preview day on Thursday. I can’t be more specific than that really. A few things though: I may be late to my table, or I may have to leave a little early on any of these days. I’m not saying I will be, I’m just saying it’s a possibility. So if you really plan on coming to my table, try to come in the earlier to mid portion of those days. If I’m not there, just ask Antoine, Dawn or Ken and they’ll tell you when I’ll be back. Or I’ll put up a sign about it on my part of the table.
If you’re coming to see me, drop me a line here, or in email or on FB or twitter and let me know around when you think you’ll make it.
But the plan is to be there as much as possible during all open hours.
WHAT AM I SELLING?
The most important items at my table are going to be Imy Vol 1.0 & the NEW Imy Vol 2.0 (You can buy yours now over HERE if you’re not going to NYCC).

I’ll also have with me a bunch of the stuff I’m selling over at the Etsy shop, including the buttons. And I’ll have bookmarks to give away.
ALSO: Sharing a part of my table will be Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio and GeekPapas selling his hilarious BookSmarts book and possibly some other goodies!
I think that pretty much covers it. I really hope to see a bunch of you there! I’m so excited! And if you dont’ know my tablemates’ work, make sure you take a look at their sites as well. They are: Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert & Fred and Ken Drab of Rick the Stick
And now I leave you with this hilarious, yet slightly disturbing, cartoon drawn by Antoine (my tablemate) of Drunken Fools. Enjoy!

See you in FIVE DAYS!
Isn’t that what they used to say about Heinz ketchup? (I remember this commercial from when I was a kid, but I never remembered that that was Joey from FRIENDS!)
I have a crazy week of planning so things got a bit messed up. The big Numer 300 strip will be posting Tuesday. So stay tuned!
Hey guys! The comic posting today will post tomorrow instead.
Blame MinIMy… she’s stubborn and won’t come out to play
For those of you who only follow by RSS feed…
I completely flubbed last night, and I was so tired when I was uploading the comic that I didn’t even realize that i hade made an essential line of dialogue invisible.
BIG FAT FAIL.
It’s fixed now. I apologize for that, guys.
I have some GREAT news for you guys! Today I was able to come up with a new solution for S&H that will benefit everyone, and I’ve edited the Vol. 1.0 purchasing page to reflect this change. The price now listed there, since it’s now the same for everyone, INCLUDES shipping.
While the price of the book itself is unchanged, the S&H costs have been GREATLY reduced, and it’s one the same cost for everyone! Go check out the new pricing now which, again, INCLUDES the cost of S&H.
Well.. THAT was a whirlwind. A WONDERFUL whirlwind! But… wait… stop… can we rewind a little.. that went too fast!!!!
I’ll start by saying the best part about the whole weekend was meeting all these wonderful webcomic people who’ve I’ve had contact with for a while on twitter and through our websites. I got to meet two Tall Tale Features brothers, Tom Racine and Mike Witmer. I got the meet the super-talented Marc LaPierre and super-fun Dawn Griffin. I got to meet John McCarthy who’s been a huge help in putting together my book and Tyler Durden (aka Brad Joyce), who you’ll see comment on almost every comic here, and his comic partner in crime Brad Snyder! And I met so many more and everyone was SO GREAT.

You guys all know all about Tall Tale Features and my super wonderful and talented brothers and sister over there, right? RIGHT?! You better
Anyway, Brock Heasley of SuperFogeys has something big coming up that I think you should know about…
If you’ve never read the SuperFogeys or it’s been a while since you have, now’s the time to check it out! Launched in September of 2006, the SuperFogeys has steadily developed into a hilarious and dramatic saga that’s far and away from its gag-a-day roots. Throughout its nearly four-year run, one villain has loomed over the residents of Valhalla-Home for the Supertired more than any other, the Third Man. We now know he’s secretly Dr. Klein, the founder of Valhalla, but what does he want? Who is he, really? And how do Spy Gal, Captain Spectacular, Swifty, Dr. Rocket and all the rest fit into his plans?
Everything has been leading up to the bomb creator Brock Heasley will be dropping on Thursday, August 19th. Early reactions to the revelation (by those lucky few) have varied from “That’s a total mind screw” to “Holy Sh—!” (Okay, so that’s not a lot of variety. Reactions are pretty much the same across the board!)
To celebrate, SuperFogeys will be running four updates August 16th-19th, Monday-Thursday. Then, in the week after that (after everyone’s had a chance to calm down!), seven consecutive daily updates August 23rd-29th, Monday-Sunday.
It’s time to catch back up with SF. What are you waiting for?

With a shock, I just realized about 2 minutes ago that today is the 2 year anniversary of this comic! Two years ago today I posted this comic, which actually rings quite true currently here in Stockholm.
I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for two years. I never had the idea that it would grow to be what it is today. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I’m so proud of this, and how I’m able to keep up with it (even if I sometimes post later on posting days, I still stick to my schedule! ALWAYS!)
And #200 is coming up fast! That’s the craziest bit!
I mentioned a while ago on Twitter & Facebook that I wanted to do a little contest this fall where I give away original art. Time is fleeting and Ih aven’t come up with anything yet, but I really want to. I’ll give it a good thought this week.
Anyway, back the original point…
Thanks to my readers for sticking with me for so long and spreading the word. I try to answer comments when I can, but even when I don’t, please know that I appreciate everything you guys say!
So I raise my virtual beer mug (at 10:30 in the morning? sure, why not?
) and toast ‘Imy’ and all of you!
Two years! WOO! And no signs of stopping!
