141 – Interview Attire
Back in the swing of things!!!
Before I start babbling check out this cool guest strip cameo! W. Byron Wilkins, of the wonderful 1977, has a guest strip up today for Union of Heroes. And in it he cameos Imy’s ROCK tee. How cool is that??
Anyway, let the babbling begin!
I was in the US for most of May, which is why I decided to do the Monday guest strips. But now I’m back! But haven’t the guest strips been AWESOME? And they’re not done yet! I’m back to my normal schedule now, but watch for some guest strips popping up every once in a while!
I had a really great trip. It was great to see my mom and my dog. It was great to stuff myself with Jersey pizza and Starbucks. I had a blast finding a great bar we ended up going to quite a few nights. We took a road trip to Cleveland to see Kings of Leon and visit the Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame, and then stopped in Amish country on the way back. Oh, AND? (this is a SUCKY BIT). I found out today that I was literally ONE BLOCK away from Mike Witmer of Pinkerton (a TTF brother of mine!) when I was in Intercourse, PA. I had NO IDEA. I wish I would have been more vocal about my trip to him. It would have been a blast to meet him!!!
Anyway… it was great fun but now it’s great to be back slowly getting back to normal. It’s a bit weird to be back to my usual routine after an eventful 3 weeks, but it feels good too.
Now I can start getting together the store and start taking care of other things. I had originally planned a June 1st opening. But I’m not 100% sure I can make that. If anyhting, it WILL be up within the first week of June! But keep checking back for more info on that!
For now, I’ve got to get to bed. Monday I start posting as normal again, and tomorrow I have a fun fan art to post! So come back for that! PLEASE!

That “ROCK” should be higher, like on her favorite t-shirt. I volunteer to help with the writing.
You coulda come visit us ={ We missed you.
I always were a nice suit to interviews with a loaded PEZ dispenser in the inside pocket and my nicest black Chuck Taylors. 😀
I’ve never had a job interview, I guess…
Great strip, although I thought the “Rock” usually went higher up than that…? 😉
Aw, man! I was beaten to it! And I finally thought I had something interesting to say for a change…
Lol. If she would’ve wrote that on her head, she might have a better chance of getting hired thanks to equal opportunity employment.
my motto,do what ever keeps you sane!
I think there’s something enticing about a woman in a suit. Authoritative, yet sexy. I’d hire her in a heartbeat…..ummm, I mean because she’s qualified…..yes, definitely that…..she’s qualified and enthusiastic…..that’s the only reason…..qualified and enthusiastic!
Cool Strip !!! Nobody likes job interviews..It would be so good if people wouldn’t judge based on appearances..clothes, tattoos, piercings, hair..
LORD, tell me about it. Working in a typical business-casual office, I look at myself in the mirror every morning as wonder who the hell is in the reflection. Do that for 2.5 years… it goes from “Aughh, I hate this”, to “meh. whatever. I guess this is me now.”
wow, i never thought that the whole Imy getting a job would acctually turn into a whole ark.
but it’s turning out to be a great one!
love this comic!
Great strip….and I hate job interviews and dressing up LOL.
@orcbuddy enthusiastic about WHAT, I may ask.
Ugh, I need that job thing now (too), over the summer at least, to save up for college up-frony costs. Bonus though: I lucked out and get paid to go to college. Woo!
Nice work! I still think it’s hilarious you were only one block away from Witmer.
Hey! Thank you very much for the little pimping of Byrons guest strip for Union of Heroes! I greatly appreciated it! All the best from Germany and keep up your great work! You have gained a new reader/follower today!

Love this strip!!! I can understand what it’s like with the whole being yourself and job interviews. I have tattoos on both of my wrists and for each one of the job interviews I went to I covered them up. Deep down it drove me crazy cause that’s not who I am. And now that I landed a job, I still cover them up cause I’m not sure what the actual policy is there. It sucks. I just want to be me!
And you would have met some of your fans too if you would have met up with Wit. Would have loved to of met you! Maybe next time you’re around!
me: Haha! I had originally thought about it! But then I thought that maybe, considering the atmosphere of my comic, that it wouldn’t fit it 😉
Rainweaver, Wit, Kelly: I KNOW! I KNOW!!! *sob* I had no idea! I wish I would have been more vocal about it. However, next time I visit I promised my mom we’d go to Amish country again. Then I WILL let you guys know! I PROMISE!!!!!
Mickel: Haha! Good! That’s the attitude I like! 😀
Arnie – Lucky you! I’ve only had 2 in the US where I had to dress like that. I thought it was a nightmare.
Nate – Ha! Good thinking!
Tyler – It’s the only way to go!
Orc – That was the comment I was expecting from “me!” Haha!
Mike – I agree. Alas, that is not usually the case. Well, it’s more relaxed here in Sweden at least!
dgriff – Ahhh! Fortunately it’s not the case for me. I work in an office but wear jeans every day. I’m so grateful for that!
Sakura – Cool! Thanks!
Utahrouge – ME TOO! I guess I hate the interview part more than the dressing up bit.
Doug – Good luck! And paid for college? What kind of Maffias ties you got going on there? 😉
Scott – Hilarious or oh-so-very-sad? *sob*
ancire – SO cool! Thanks!
Go to work in a record store, Imy. It’s your only chance!
