366 – Imy & Kat’s European Vacation: Paris
France would be the one country on all of the countries Imy & Kat have visited that I haven’t been to myself, yet. I would LOVE to go to Paris and especially The Louvre. But as much as I’d love to see the Mona Lisa, I’ve heard that the lines for it are pretty insane, and that museum is far too big and full of beautiful things to waste time on one very small piece of art.

oh… so sad its over.
is there any more imy comics?
i despretly need more. NOW.
people please tell mw where to see more.
pretty please?
P.S. imy rocks.

Thank you jy1468! I post new “Imy” comics every Tuesday and Friday. Until then you can always click on “archives” up top to read all the old ones! 🙂
why not saying where to get more comics?
please . i Need more NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also would love to some day see some of the places and things in Paris, despite from the reviews on the Parisians attitudes and driving “style”.
Then again I have had my fill of the Quebecker attitude toward the allophones … everyone not a Quebecker is an allophone …. the island of Montreal proper is an exception.
Also true that a lot of the iconic classics are just not as great in person as they are in pictures and books – think of it like meeting a celebrity out of the limelight and off the beaten path – usually disappointing.
Managed to see it a few years ago during my Euro vacation. It is surprisingly small, and difficult to view, as there are always 100 people in a mob in front of it.
I did get a chance to examine it from about 5 feet away. Would have been better if there weren’t a bunch of noisy Asian tourists milling about – but you sort of have to expect it.
Loving Imy & Kat’s vacation, I’m on vacation right now too.
I’ve been to Paris twice and have seen the Mona Lisa. It’s not all that great…and maybe it was the time that I visited, but there wasn’t really a line. It was more like a mob of people standing around the rope that they have at a radius of probably about 10m around the thing. That’s another thing–you can’t get close enough to really see it unlike all the other artworks, except with the miracle of camera zoom.
I loved the Louvre and loved seeing all of the gorgeous artwork.
Rant warning:
I got close to the Mona Lisa. Close enough to see all the idiot tourists using their camera flashes that destroy artwork.
However, the joke is on the flash photography users because the Plexiglas prevents flash photography.
