So relatable! ?
Us dog lovers know!! 😉
I don’t find this scene amusing. What I’m seeing is someone who feels privileged behaving inconsiderately to another. The MC here did not ask if she could take a photo. She did not think about the effect it would have on the dog or the dog’s human. She just barged right ahead and did what she wanted to, with no concern for the negative results. She does not apologize in the last panel. She just appears to feel abashed because her negative behaviors got her noticed in an unflattering light.
Not cool, Irma. It’s a letdown to see this.
Ummm… it’s a cartoon dog. And a cartoon human.
It’s a comic strip, not a parable.
“I don’t find this scene amusing, Mr. Schulz. Obviously, Lucy should never have taken that ball away from Charlie Brown. He was obviously trying to kick it, and it was very mean of her to take it away. There’s nothing funny about this.”
“Mr. Davis, that cat just right out killed that spider, even though they were having a conversation. We shouldn’t just kill spiders willy-nilly in comics because he just barged right ahead and rolled up a newspaper and squashed that spider. Not cool, Jim Davis.”
“Mr. Jones, how can you possibly think that a coyote falling off a cliff after chasing a road runner is funny? Did you think about how much damage a coyote would take by falling off a cliff, or smacking into a wall? And besides, could he really get all that ACME stuff delivered to the middle of the desert? Does he have a P.O. Box out there? And how would he get a line of credit to allow him to get rocket boots? It’s a letdown to see this.”
Chill, dude (dudette?) We ALL know people that need to talk just to hear themselves talk. Over-analyzing things doesn’t REALLY make you seem smart.
Wow! Someone needs a reality check. Do you also think the people in the magic talking picture box are speaking to you as well?
Wow, someone need a cookie?
Yeah! How DARE a cartoonist make fun of an awkward situation that’s happened to pretty much everyone I know! Where’s the humor in THAT?
Who knows what the last panel means? She might be thinking, oh dear, I have violated that cartoon dog’s space and I should open this cartoon window and launch myself out of it.
I’m the biggest animal nut I know (just ask my husband about the many spiders he is forced to carry outside – uh oh, maybe that was interfering with the spider’s space), and I found this week’s Imy to be relatable and fun, as I do all of them.
Ah, Irma– it’s so good that you’re back. And funny as always. You made me laugh. Thank you. XD
Thank you, Hunter! If you JUST saw that I’m updating again then make sure you go back and read the last few comics you may have missed!
Thank you all for commenting in defense of my comic. I didn’t have to write anything. Haha! ❤
