Book Week
As of today there is 12½ weeks left until NYCC. That may sound like a lot, BUT IT’S NOT!!!!! Especially not for a worrier like me, who panics at the drop of a hat. Also, I think this is where the anxiety dreams are going to begin… I can just feel it…
Remember that cute little meter I posted up there to the left that would show book progress? Well, I can’t find that file anymore after I switched over to the mac, so I haven’t been able to update it. So I AM farther along than that meter says, but I’m no where near where I need to be right now.
This book is taking priority right now. I need to have it for the con, and I know there are a lot of you waiting for it. It’s going to have a lot of cool extras, besides just the first 100 Imy strips (all in color too), so it’s going to be fun to have.
But it needs to get done.
So, I NEED this week to dedicate to the book. I know a LOT of us here in the Northern Hemisphere are having a pretty HOT summer so far. It’s the warmest and stickiest summer I’ve ever felt in Sweden in my 8 summers here. So I figured that tossing a few Imy Summer Classics would be perfect for this.
Also, if you want to join in on the fun of the making of the book you can follow me on twitter, or “like” Imy on facebook to keep updated on when I will be drawing LIVE. I’ve done it quite a bit in the past few weeks, and people seem to have enjoyed it. It’s a chance to get a sneak peek at the extra book content, and to see a bit of my process.
AND, for some extra fun, Tom Racine, the golden voice of Tall Tale Radio, has started to post his old BookSmarts strips so everyone has a chance to see them. I think they’re pretty brilliant and I think you’ll get a kick our of them. SO make sure to check them out RIGHT HERE.
So there ya have it. Enjoy the classic comics, watch me work on the stream and stay cool (or warm if you’re down there in those freaky places where they’re having winter now 😉 ), and see you with new Imy’s week! (barring any book problems, that is)

LOL! Now I dig this comic!
yup, pools are one of those good ideas, if only there weren’t kids messing it up.
Good luck with the book! I know it’s SUCH a project… hooooof! I hope to make it up to NY for Saturday to meet you, but with that pesky wedding 1 month away, cannot guarantee anything….
Red Octopus. 😉
Thanks for putting out a fun rocker-chick kinda comic, Irma! I finally got around to running your archives & catching up on the storyline.
I lived in Latvia for seven years, so I’ve got some connection with the local cultures & weather. Did a nice bit of club recording and photography around Rīga the last two years, mostly with Latvians, but also met up with a few Swedes in the local music community. Loved it & gonna miss it.
But … if you don’t play games and stuff, what’s the point of going to the pool? Relaxing and doing nothing in it is just boring. Well, that’s what I think at least.
Ooh! one of my favorites. Actually, wasn’t this in one of your already published books? I think the second one?
I still act like those kids though, except my splashes are bigger. Upper body strength and all…
