8 – Ever Evolving
Hmm, I quite like myself in cartoon form… Anyway, Hope you guys don’t mind. Unless you think I’m making a huge mistake? I’m still developing my characters I guess. Actually… I’m having second thoughts… We’ll see how this goes… we’ll see where Imy takes this…

Suckah !
you mean you AREN’T one in the same?!!! My sense of reality has been thrown off!!!
Hi Irma,
Great timing on this strip. And I love ‘your’ expression in panel 3. Nice work. Keep it up!
Alex: Hehe, you liked that huh?
Duck: Haha! Well, I was afraid that once I start getting the characters into sticky situations, I wanted to enforce a bit more taht the comic isn’t really supposed to be autobiographical!
Scott: Thanks so much Scott! You just made my day 🙂
Irma, very funny. I love the fact that you used “suckah” rather than sucker. Funny words can make or break a comic strip. I wouldn’t worry about changing the character’s hair color. My wife changes her’s every six weeks or so.
@ Wit – that’s only because she’s trying to escape unrecognized!
Hey Irma! Came here via the Mammals. It’s interesting to see the changes through only 8 strips. Keep it up!
I also think the facial expressions you are drawing are amazing! You can say so much with no words at all! 🙂
Wit: Thanks so much Wit! Yeah, when I started writing it out, “suckah” just seemed most appropriate. Thanks so much for coming by and reading these!
me!: Thanks for stopping by! And yes, there is a lot of changes going on right now. I think, I have found how I like to draw my characters – at least Imy. It’s just the hair I’m agonizing over now! I hope you come by again!
Erika THANKS Erika! I’m learning a lot as I go along, and with this one I really started to get the feel for the power of the facial expression.
Irma,
Reading through your archive there is a marked improvement…the strip gets better and better as time goes on, in terms of writing, drawing, and characters! This one is one of my favorites. I’m a sucker for when the strip “breaks the fourth wall,” and I like how you became a character in your own strip a la Pastis from “Pearls Before Swine.” I like the changes that you are making…it’s good to have the strip evolve. Keep up the good work!
I also came here through the Panel Mammals, by the way. I think you should consider submitting “Imy” eventually to the Mammals for a Comics Dissection, like they did for Kevin’s “Madstop” and me!’s “prematurely disappointed.”
